8/18/2008 - Former Catamount men's golfer Matt Cook countered three bogeys with five birdies on Monday to stand tied for second in stroke play of the 2008 United State Amateur Championship held at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club. He is tied with five others at two-under, 68, just one stroke in arrears of the two-way tie for first-place between Wesley Bryan of Chapin, S.C., and Andrew Putnam of University Place, Wash. Cook played Pinehurst No. 4 on Monday, and will continue stroke play on Pinehurst No. 2 on Tuesday. - Read Full Release
